Tyson Fury rejects Usyk’s victory, calls It a “Christmas Gift” from Judges

Tyson Fury has vehemently rejected Oleksandr Usyk’s victory, calling it a “Christmas present” from the jury. Usyk won by unanimous decision and all three judges scored the fight 116-112 in his favor.

Fury, who believes he won both this fight and the previous fight in May, said in the post-fight press conference: “I thought I won that fight. I was the aggressor, shooting at his body and head. “A lot of people, including my promoter Frank Warren, had me winning by at least two laps.”

Despite the decision, Fury remained determined and said: “I will believe I won this fight until the day I die. There’s nothing I can do about the judge’s decision. “I just fought with my heart.”

Asked by a Ukrainian journalist whether Usyk’s victory was inspired by the spirit of his war-torn country, Fury said: “I didn’t feel any spirit. “I think Usyk got a Christmas present from those judges.”

Fury also joked about the use of Artificial Intelligence to judge the fight, saying: “AI gave Usyk the win too. Absolute nonsense! Keep judging people, not computers!”

After the fight, Fury stated that he planned to relax and enjoy Christmas, saying: “I have been away from training for this fight for 12 weeks. Now I will go home and enjoy the holiday.

Promoter Frank Warren was also shocked by the judges’ scorecards, saying: “How did Tyson only go four laps? This is impossible. Everyone around me thought he won. Usyk was mostly left behind.”

Fury’s future in boxing is now uncertain but Warren said: “It’s too early to know what happens next. “Tyson is very disappointed and we will have to see what he decides.”

Despite his disappointment, Fury gave Usyk some credit, saying: “It’s not Oleksandr’s fault. “I congratulate him and his team,” he said. Usyk, meanwhile, praised Fury, calling him a “great fighter” and a “great competitor.”
