Rose Ayling-Ellis missed Strictly special as she ‘didn’t want to discuss time with Giovanni Pernice’

The real reason Rose Ayling-Ellis did not appear on the Strictly Come Dancing 20th Anniversary Special has been ‘revealed’.

Actress Rose won the BBC One show in 2021, with Giovanni Pernice. Rose made history on the show as the first deaf contestant.

And this weekend, the BBC celebrates its 20th anniversary Strictly speaking in a special episode, Strictly Come Dancing: 20 Fabulous Years.

And while many former contestants and champions show up, Rose is nowhere to be seen…

Rose Ayling-Ellis did not appear in the Strictly special

On Saturday night (December 22) the BBC aired Strictly Come Dancing: 20 Fabulous Years – where the stars, including hosts, pro dancers, judges and celebrity contestants – talk about their time on the glitzy BBC One show.

However, Rose – who won the show with Giovanni Pernice – was absent from the episode.

Giovanni left Strictly earlier this year after he embroiled a bullying scandal. He was later cleared of ten of his 16 charges.

But now, the ‘real reason’ for Rose not appearing on the Strictly 20th anniversary show has been ‘revealed’.

Reason Rose ‘called’ Specially ‘revealed’

According to sources, although Rose enjoyed her time on the show, her decision not to appear on her birthday show was reportedly because she didn’t want to discuss her time with. Giovanni.

“Rose loved her time on the show, but didn’t want to discuss her time with Giovanni,” a source said Sunrise.

They added: “He chose not to talk about him and Amanda publicly.”

Strict fans react to Rose missing from the special

Fans watching Strictly Come Dancing: 20 Fabulous Years soon picked up on Rose’s absence.

Rushing to X, one person said: “That’s very strange rose not interviewed, it seems that he has deleted #Strictly from his story?! Glad Giovanni has been shown so much even though there is no interview.

Second wrote: “Shame that Rose is obviously not available there.” Another wrote: “Shame Rose isn’t in this, I know it’s hard because of Giovanni but she has such an important influence on the series.”
