The ICC Champions Cup, which has been on the agenda since the ICC decided to transfer the hosting rights to Pakistan for 2025, has now reached its final stages.

The rights to host the Champions Trophy were transferred to the tournament’s champions, Pakistan; However, India strictly banned its team from traveling to the neighboring country as it was concerned about poor diplomatic relations.

After much initial opposition and speculation, the ICC came under the direction of a new president. Jay Shah It has decided to retain Pakistan’s hosting rights with a hybrid model for India matches that can be played at a neutral venue.

The PCB’s offer will determine the neutral venue, which could be Dubai or Colombo.

India is expected to be in Group A along with Bangladesh, New Zealand and Pakistan.

India, like many remembered seasons in the Champions Trophy and the longest format of white-ball cricket, were again placed alongside their arch-rivals Pakistan in the group; because their match will be the most dramatic match of the event.

India will also play the Black Caps again in the longer white-ball format, where they won their first ICC match, in the CWC 2023 semi-finals.

ICC Champions Trophy (Provisional Match Schedule)

Since all India matches are scheduled at neutral venues, the Champions Trophy is likely to be scheduled from February 19 with the first match being played between the home team Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi.

While the PCB has recommended Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi for matches of all non-Indian teams, the semi-finals and finals will also be played at neutral venues, given that India has progressed to the knockout matches.
