Sickening new angle of Tank Dell horror injury vs Chiefs emerges after NBC chose not to show replay

A sickening new angle on Tank Dell’s gruesome knee injury has emerged as the Houston Texans star was hospitalized in Kansas City.

Dell had a 30-yard catch early in the third quarter against the Chiefs, but Texans receiver Jared Wayne tackled Dell as they both fell to the ground.

Dell retained control of the ball but was removed from the game by emergency personnel with his leg immobilized with a brace.

Texans quarterback CJ Stroud was visibly emotional as Dell left and appeared to fight back tears.

Broadcaster NBC said there were some angles on the air that they would not show in replays, but a bad angle was revealed on the air before the severity of the injury became clear.

And now, a doctor named Jeff Mueller, who has frequently gone viral on social media for his analysis of NFL injuries, has shared his perspective on the incident that NBC failed to repeat after the first time.

“If you don’t want to see this keep scrolling, this is brutal,” Mueller wrote before offering his take on the injury.

Tank Dell’s knee injury was so bad that NBC refused to show replays from certain angles

‘There is probably a risk of multiple ligaments plus dislocation and fracture in the left knee. ‘He was probably admitted to hospital to assess arterial risk.’

In a separate post he added: ‘Instinct says there is no arterial involvement. But they’re probably rushing him there anyway to evaluate him. In these situations where there is serious trauma it is always better to be safe than sorry.’

Dell is currently being treated at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where the Texans said he will spend the night.

“Tank has a significant knee injury,” Texans coach DaMeco Ryan said after the game. ‘He will spend the night here in Kansas City pending further evaluation.

‘All our thoughts and prayers are with Tank right now. You’ve seen what he means to our entire team. It hurts to see him fall like this. He had a great game, played very well for us.

‘He was in great shape and we want to keep him in our thoughts and prayers at this time.’

Stroud’s emotional response to Dell’s injury likely had to do with the challenges Dell overcame to get on the field in the 2024 season.

The 25-year-old was shot in April during the NFL offseason in Sanford, Florida, but suffered a “minor wound,” the Texans said.

Dell finished his 2023 rookie season with 709 yards and seven touchdowns for the Texans.

However, his year was cut short when he suffered a broken leg in a game against the Denver Broncos in early December.

The Texans lost the game 27-19 against the Chiefs on Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium.
