Bookies bashed! Sky Bet pay out over £8MILLION after more than 250,000 customers had Arsenal to thank for completing their Money Back as Cash Price Boost bet

Sky Bet were forced to pay out a whopping £8m bet after Arsenal completed a lucrative Cash Price Rise bet on Saturday evening.

Mikel Arteta’s team ended the night with a great victory against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, winning 5-1 away.

Goals from Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli and Declan Rice added to a commanding performance in the capital, which saw Arsenal fall just three points behind league leaders Liverpool.

But while punters – and Arsenal fans – were pleased with the result, punters were likely far from it as the Cash special Price Increased accumulator provided the final piece of the jigsaw for Saturday’s Sky Bet Money Back.

The punters, as well as Arsenal fans, wanted Leeds and Newcastle to take the three points and they duly did.

Sky Bet odds were increased from 2/1 to 3/1, resulting in more than 250,000 customers accepting the offer.

Arsenal’s stunning 5-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park gave customers a bumper payday

Leeds had previously started a good day for accumulator supporters with a 4-0 victory against Oxford United.

Both Leeds and Newcastle kicked off at 3pm and Daniel Farke’s player cruised to a 4-0 victory at Elland Road.

Daniel James opened the scoring before Jayden Bogle, Brenden Aaronson and Manor Solomon scored in the second half to give Leeds their ninth straight league win.

Victory also condemned rivals Oxford United to the relegation zone, a week after the club sacked head coach Des Buckingham.

Meanwhile, Newcastle caused more misery by the same scoreline as they battled Ipswich in Suffolk; Eddie Howe’s side were in good form from kick-off with Alexander Isak scoring just a minute later.

The Sweden international then completed a hattrick in under an hour, with Jacob Murphy also getting on the scoresheet.
