Strictly viewers’ upset as Chris McCausland won’t be doing live tour

Chris McCausland was announced as the winner Strictly Come Dancing 2024 on Saturday night with his pro partner Dianne Buswell.

Chris and Dianne won the Glitterball trophy in the grand final, which also saw Sarah Hadland, Tasha Ghouri and JB Gill fight it out.

But it was comedian Chris and pro dancer Dianne who got the most votes, making him the first blind contestant to win a series of the competition.

After the victory, Chris said: “It’s amazing, I don’t know what to say. Honestly I thought I was going to come out in the first week or two and I know nobody came out in the first week but I still thought I could.

Viewers were over the moon to see Chris and Diane win the event. However, others are gutted over a bit of new news.

I know why he didn’t do it but I’m still sad Chris didn’t do the tour.

Unlike previous champions, Chris will not do the Strictly live tour in 2025. This is because he already has his own comedy tour going on at the same time.

Fans shared their thoughts, with one person calling it a “travesty”.

They wrote: “I can’t stop thinking about Chris not doing the live tour and the other 3 all doing it. It would be a travesty if the winner of the show didn’t do the tour.

Another person said on X: “I know why he didn’t do it but I’m still sad Chris didn’t do the tour.”

Why didn’t Chris McCausland do a live tour

A spokesperson for Chris recently explained that he has been pushing the comedy tour dates to perform strictly. Now it will happen in January and February.

They told you Mirror in November: “Chris has changed his tour dates to do Strictly and that’s not an easy thing to do. There’s a lot of people who are disappointed and it’s stressful – we’ve had a lot of messages. So he can’t move back, absolutely not.

“Everyone has known very well about this along the line. It is a great shame, because he would like to do the tour, but Chris is not available. He said at the point of registration that he could not do it, that it would not be possible, it was always clear.
