South Korea's Yoon defied prosecutors' summons in martial law probe, Yonhap reports

SEOUL, December 15 (Reuters) – South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol Disobeying prosecutors’ call on Sunday, prosecutors plan to issue a new order while they investigate the short-lived martial law decree, Yonha news agency reported.
Yoon and several senior officials face criminal investigation on possible charges of rebellion, abuse of power and obstructing people from exercising their rights.
Yoonha said the special prosecution team investigating Yoon’s failed martial law attempt sent a subpoena to Yoon on Wednesday, asking him to appear for questioning at 10 a.m. (0100 GMT) on Sunday, but Yonha did not show up.
The prosecutor’s office plans to issue another subpoena on Monday, the report said.
Yoon was removed from office and suspended from presidential duties by martial law decree on Saturday.
Prosecutors on Sunday requested arrest warrants for senior military officials, including the head of the Army Special Warfare Command and the chief of the capital defense command, Yonha reported.
Separately, police said about 1,500 soldiers were mobilized after Yoon declared martial law on December 3.
