Iconic stars of the 90s and old friends Candace Cameron Bure and Danica McKellar are bringing holiday cheer this season.

Bure and McKellar kicked off the winter break with the first Great American Family Christmas Festival at Northwell Park at USB Arena in New York. Bure became chief creative officer of the Great American Family Channel in 2022.

Bure, whom fans call the “Queen of Christmas Movies,” has had her share of sweet on-screen holiday kisses. She told Fox News Digital about her husband’s reaction when she acted in romantic scenes and how it happened. it affected their marriage.

Bure married former NHL player Valeri Bure in June 1996. The couple has three children: Natasha, Lev and Maxim.

McKellar, who starred in Great American Family’s “A Cinderella Christmas Ball,” has a 14-year-old son, Draco, with her ex-husband Mike Verta. She is currently married to attorney Scott Sveslosky, with whom she has a son from a previous relationship.

The two famous friends have bonded over their faith since Bure first took McKellar to church. McKellar said he listened to the “Bible Summary” an hour before speaking to Fox News Digital and said it changed his lifestyle overall.

Bure also stars in the films “A Christmas Less Traveled” with Eric Johnson and “Let it Snow” with Jesse Hutch. The actor, who has been in the business of starring in Christmas movies for more than a decade, told Fox News Digital his secret to creating engaging holiday content.

“I love making these movies. When I made my first movie 15 years ago, I never imagined it would become such a big genre for many years to come,” he said.

“But I keep doing them because people love them… People get so emotional and they mean something to them, whether it’s a new tradition they’ve created for their own family or because they’ve seen some of our movies and they connect. In a way, it’s meaningful.”

He added that he received positive reviews for his film “A Christmas Less Traveled” due to his character discovering a recorded message from his late father on an old audio tape.

Some viewers are able to tell the story of their parents’ passing, while fans express that “the movie is very touching” and that it “helps” them “throughout the holidays.”

“That’s why I keep making them,” Bure said.

He also mentioned that McKellar writes for Great American Family Media and acts in their films. McKellar has starred in her 11th Christmas movie, and many of her previous movies have been produced by Hallmark.

McKellar told Fox News Digital that he is “loyal” to Great American Media CEO Bill Abbott, the former Hallmark CEO.

“I really thank Bill for reviving my career… making me a part of these kinds of rom-coms and Christmas rom-coms. I’m so grateful to him. I’ll always be grateful.”

As the Great American Family hosts its first Christmas festival, Bure detailed why the company decided to create this holiday experience.

“We’ve been dreaming about this for many years and really wanted to create an environment where you could bring the whole family together and experience Christmas. It’s like being in one of our movies,” Bure told Fox News Digital.

During the holiday event, festivalgoers can take photos with Santa, go ice skating, and enjoy great food and games. Fans also have the chance to meet talents like Mario Lopez, who starred in “Once Upon a Christmas Wish.”
