Blind Comedian Chris McCausland Wins ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ 2024

The dance show – the original BBC show that paved the way for dozens of international versions (including the United States). There was not a dry eye in the house when the popular Liverpudlian collected his Glitterball trophy and honored the efforts of his professional partner, Dianne Buswell in using unconventional methods in teaching him to dance.

Charities for visually impaired people quickly applauded the victory, applauding McCausland’s efforts in showing what is possible for disabled people.

In addition to its victories, the show has enjoyed some great stories – a celebrity Tasha Ghouri, who wears a cochlear implant since birth deaf, has ‘turned on’ her hearing aid every week, and the fans who watch it have followed suit. Pop singer JB Gill’s professional partner Amy Dowden was forced to leave the contest due to injury but she reached the final with a substitute dancer, and actress Sarah Hadland proved what is possible for old women, scoring a row of 10 marks from the judges for her final routine of the night. All in all, it’s quite a series, and the BBC can breathe again – its golden egg of the show has been saved.
